Office Receptionist/Administrator – Liverpool/Leeds
Job Sector: Vets
Salary: Apprentice rate at £95.00 with a view to increase on achievement of qualification, increase will be to national minimum wage on gaining Level 2 Business Administration.
Job Specification
The position is for someone to join a Vets’ practice as a front of house receptionist and administrator. The candidate in this role will be to meet and greet clients and run the diary booking in appointments and treatments for patients. The candidate will be required to answer the phone and also speak face to face with individuals and with regards to their pet. The person will be required to be sympathetic to those people who’s animal is very old and sick and offer advise to new owners with regards to their pet. The role will include a varied routine of administration tasks including faxing, filing of records, records maintenance and updates, diary management, dealing with prescription requests and data base for treatment records.

Future Jobs Fund and apprenticeships… it works!

If you are a public or third sector employer you will probably have heard of the Future Jobs Fund. The Fund amounts to about £1 billion to support the creation of additional jobs for young people who have been out of work for some time. Jobs must last, initially, for a period of at least six months although it is hoped that many employees will then be retained.

Want many people don’t realise though is that employees engaged through the Future Jobs Fund can also study for apprenticeship qualifications. Damar is already working with some Future Jobs Fund learners - they are a perfect way to ensure that staff get the most out of their new roles.

Help with wage costs for 16 and 17 year old apprentices

The National Apprenticeship Service has just announced the creation of 5,000 Apprenticeship Grants for employers of 16 and 17 year olds. The grants are of £2,500 and are designed to encourage employers to take on unemployed 16 and 17 year olds as apprentices.
